A few things to know…

Session Frequency

Sessions can be booked weekly, fortnightly or further apart, depending on your needs and treatment plan. You are welcome to return to psychology at any stage!

Mental Health Care Plans & Remote Work

At times, your psychologist may work remotely from their usual clinic location due to other professional commitments, such as research or conferences. Where possible, we aim to maintain continuity of care and continue offering appointments during these periods.

During remote work periods, sessions are provided via telehealth and Mental Health Care Plan rebates cannot be claimed. Clients with an eligible Mental Health Care Plan and active sessions remaining may be offered a reduced consultation fee during these periods, subject to caseload availability. Other rebates are typically applicable. NDIS continues unchanged.

Special Rates

Occasionally, we offer promotional periods with a reduced rate (i.e., for first sessions only of new clients). The session must be both booked and attended within the promotional period. Promotional rates cannot be transferred to a later date if a session is cancelled or rescheduled outside the promotional period. Offers are limited and subject to availability.

A Helping Hand

We recognise that accessing psychological care is not always easy. A limited number of reduced-fee appointments are available through a caseload-dependent sliding scale, where possible. These appointments are subject to availability and are not always available. They are for a limited number of sessions, and dependent on financial or situational need.

Availability

In-clinic availability can vary. Telehealth and appointment hours depend on where your psychologist is working, so availability may change between periods. Not all appointment types or times are available at all times.

Standard sessions lengths for psychological services are 45-50 minutes in consultation with client, with 10 minutes allocated into the hour for case notes and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation mandated administrative services, separate to client. Letters to GPs are at no additional cost (typically 2 letters per client per year; other letters, or reports, may incur a fee).

All fees are below APS recommended amounts. For more information about psychology consultations through the Australian Psychological Society, please click here
