Website Terms & Digital Purchases

These terms cover your use of our website and any digital products, downloads or Membership you buy through it. By using the site or making a purchase, you're agreeing to them. If you book therapy or assessment with us, our separate Client Agreement applies to that care.

1. Using our website

You're welcome to browse and use our site for your own personal, lawful purposes. We do our best to keep everything running smoothly, but we may update, pause or change parts of the site from time to time, and we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.

2. Our content isn't therapy

Everything on this site, our social media and our resources is general information, offered to educate, inform and share reflections grounded in psychological knowledge and experience. It isn't tailored to you and may not fit your situation. Reading our writing, following us, or using our resources doesn't create a therapeutic relationship or entitle you to clinical support outside of booked sessions. For that, please book in (see our Client Agreement).

3. Our content and intellectual property

All written content, photography, audio, guides, graphics and digital products here belong to Conscious Shift unless credited otherwise. You're welcome to view them, and to download or print extracts for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don't reproduce, share, distribute or sell our content, or store it elsewhere, without our written permission.

4. Digital products, downloads and Membership

Any workbooks, audio recordings, courses and Membership content are licensed for your personal use only. They're supportive resources, not a substitute for one-to-one psychological care, and shouldn't be relied on for diagnosis or treatment. Membership content is available while your subscription is active, and we may add to, update or remove content from time to time as we keep the library fresh.

5. Purchases and payment

Prices are shown in Australian dollars (AUD). Payment is made through our payment providers (Stripe), who handle your card details securely; we don't store full card numbers. Completing a purchase means you accept these terms and the licence above.

6. Refunds

Because digital products are delivered instantly and can't be returned, they're non-refundable once purchased or accessed. Nothing here overrides your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including for a product that is faulty or not as described. If something isn't right, please email us.

7. Communications, newsletter and Substack

You can choose to hear from us, and you're always free to opt out.

Our email newsletter. If you sign up, we'll send occasional updates by email. You can unsubscribe any time using the link in the email itself. If you ever have trouble with our general email, just contact us.

Substack. We also publish on Substack, which runs independently of us. We write the posts, but your subscription sits with Substack, so you unsubscribe directly through them. If a Substack post reaches you by email, please check the source of that email to see where to unsubscribe, as it may be Substack rather than us. For anything to do with Substack delivery or your Substack subscription, please contact Substack directly. You can also read our updates in the Substack app without email, by turning on notifications in your Substack settings.

Appointment emails are separate. These subscription choices don't affect the essential appointment and account emails we send to therapy clients, which are covered in our Client Agreement and can't be unsubscribed from.

8. Links to other sites

Our site may link to other websites we don't control. We share them to be helpful, but we're not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so do have a look at their terms when you visit.

9. Privacy and cookies

We handle your personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights, including how we use cookies.

10. Our responsibility to you

We provide the website and our content with reasonable care, but "as is." To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on general information here. This doesn't limit anything that can't be limited by law, and it doesn't affect your Australian Consumer Law rights.

11. General

These terms are the whole agreement between us about your use of the site and any purchase, and replace any earlier discussions. If part of them turns out not to apply, the rest still stands. If we don't enforce something straight away, we can still enforce it later, and these terms don't create rights for anyone who isn't a party to them.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version always lives on this page, so it's worth a look before you make a purchase.

13. Law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia and the Commonwealth of Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction over any dispute.
